We have been busy!

we have been keeping busy these last few weeks with lots of fun stuff! last week sawyer "had his friends over" for a playdate. we had over two ten month old girls emily and aspen and sweet baby kyla who is only a month old! i think sawyer really had fun getting to play with the older girls. he was even very sweet and gentle with baby kyla.

last weekend kelsi and i headed up to CR for leeanns bachelorette party and we had a great time. the group of us went out to dinner and then out for drinks at the piano lounge- the deuling pianos were there and that was a lot of fun too. the drinks were awesome and i almost had "too much fun" but luckily kelsi was there to drag me back to leeanns at the end of the night where caleb made us pizza! kelsi and i stopped at the outlet mall on the way home from CR and we got some amazing deals.

zach and sawyer and i also ventured to dm this week and we bought a new bed for our anniversary which was wonderful. its a sleigh bed and its beautiful. we got the chest also but it wont be in until october!

sawyer and i also had another playdate with another work friend and her twin 3.5 year old daughters and her adorable 2 year old daughter. they loved sawyer and he seemed to like them too- he grabbed one of the twins and gummed her on the cheek and then kept playing. he must have thought she was cute!

why is goodbye so hard?

Uncle marcus left for college this morning and Sawyer and I met him at grandma and papas to say goodbye. Mom, dad and marcus headed out from there to start the 16 hour drive to davidson in north carolina. It was so sad to think that he is going to be so far away from us now instead of a short drive across town. I just kept thinking, wait werent you just a baby? Werent you just 4 years old and playing outside with me under the apple tree? When did we grow up? I know that he will have a great time at davidson. College was such a blast and im excited for him to get to experience that as well and at such a good school but I will miss having him around. Sawyer of course didnt know what was going on and why everyone was acting sad and kept grabbing at uncle marcus's hands and smiling and laughing at everyone. Im glad he was there to keep the mood a bit lighter.

More Summer Fun

We hit the local aquatic center for the first time today and had a blast. We went with some girls from work and their kids/neice and nephew and a few high school friends as well. Sawyer loved getting to sit in the shallow area and play with his toys and splash. He got to "play" with Brandon for the first time today also- he is the 13 month old son of a girl I work with at the hospital. Sawyer was happy the whole time and even took a little nap while we were there and woke up again ready to play even more and was still in quite a happy mood when we got home- guess he had a great time!

Staying hydrated

well, we had a great time at lake michigan. we left wednesday am and got there in time for some nice beach sun that day. Sawyer did amazingly well in the car and never cried! It was unbelievable! zach once asked me if Sawyer was asleep but he was just playing happily. We spent most of our time lounging on the beach and Sawyer loved it! I brought him a tiny shade tent so he wouldnt spend quite as much time in the direct sun and he liked sitting under the shade and playing with his "beach toys" and he LOVED playing in the water. He liked the waves to splash his feet, and Zach took him out into the lake to splash around and he loved it. The water was great- not too cold, which helped. There were probably 30-40 people at the reunion and we ate dinner together every night and then did activities that my aunt ann planned- our favorite ended up being the photo scavenger hunt because our team won- we had some pretty hilarious pictures such as our "rockstar" in which we made a star around a rock wearing sunglasses, and our 3 picture sequence of lost and found in which zach lost a leg...and then we found it. While we were there Sawyer decided that instead of the pack n play, that he needed to sleep in bed with Zach and I. I dont know if he was cold or scared or what, but he slept between us like a little log, and then would wake up and see both of us in the bed and he would get this HUGE smile on his face, like "yay im in the bed with mommy AND daddy what could be better!
last night he def. slept in his own bed again..which was nice :) We also did some dune exploration and we got ourselves lost in a state park... finally we found some dunes for the boys to climb. Sawyer did great on the way home and we drove past the town of sawyer! We had so much fun getting to hang out with our family- it def. went too fast. We have been busy today catching up on the laundry and grocery shopping. We have a busy upcoming few weeks!

Here are Sawyer's "swimming" pictures and a few other pictures from this weekend and last week. Sawyer is our little fish! We are packing everything up today and have been running errands. I am NOT excited for the 8 hour drive tomorrow. I have a bag of toys packed so hopefully Sawyer dosent get to unhappy about the car trip and i got him a new "laptop" toy that has a lot of buttons to try to keep him entertained. i also dropped some cash to get an invertor so we can use our real laptop in the car to play baby einstein dvds since sawyer cant watch the built in dvd player while riding backwards :( im also going to download a few audiobooks from the library today for the ipod- i hate driving but im excited to take sawyer to the beach and to just get away for a few days! i think daddy needs a little beach time too :)

Keeping Busy

Yes, we have been keeping busy the past few weeks. Zach and I realized as we were trying to coordinate things into our scheduals that we are booked solid on weekends between now and the end of Septemeber...wow. This weekend we enjoyed pool time with one of my college friends and her fiance. They are getting married next month! She brought my bridesmaid dress down for the wedding next month also and it is lovely! When I ordered it I was one size for waist and hips and a whole size BIGGER for chest...that has never happend before lol. Needless to say I was vain and bought the smaller size but it fits just fine- it laces up in the back so its pretty hard to not fit into a dress that is adjustable :) I just need about 6 inches off the bottom. They came down friday night so on saturday we walked around downtown and went to the bakery and meat market and some shops and then had lunch. They brought their dog down and Cooper and Lola were in LOVE and played until they were exhausted. We took the dogs on a nice walk on the path behind our house and then hit the pool. As usual Sawyer loved the water and Leeann used to teach baby swimmng lessons so he was having a lot of fun with her! He will be swimming like a fish by next summer! He kicks his legs and paddles his arms and can almost float all on his own! I took a bunch of picture of him "swimming" but of course can't find my camera this morning. Today Sawyer and I are busy doing laundry, cleaning up the house, and packing our bags so that we can head to lake michigan on Wednesday-it will be Sawyers first trip to the beach!
